Mario Kart Wii will have Snaking!

Well Go Nintendo has the scoop. Mario Kart Wii will have snaking. The next issue of NMag has some details on the new title. The puzzler though is that they also note that the controls will be similar to Excite Truck. I still can't imagine snaking and therefore competitive racing to be possible with a motion controller. Could it be that this title will be best played with the classic controller? It still remains to be seen, but it's a great sign that snaking has been included in the game and that we'll have a competitive online experience.

Mario Kart Wii showing up on WFC

Undoubtedly test versions of the near final version of Mario Kart Wii are being put through their paces... Go Nintendo is reporting that last week saw 865 connections from Mario Kart Wii!
We should see that number rise in the coming weeks.

In other news, yours truly placed his amazon pre-order for the game today. Have you got yours in yet?

K.O.G Super Mario Kart Grand Champion TShirt

King of Games, makers of high quality designer game t-shirts has their Mario Kart T-Shirt for sale in all sizes. This is a fantastic shirt in a "felt" print that I definitely recommend to any MK enthusiast. Like all their shirts, it's officially licensed by Nintendo AND approved by the game designer. Every once in a while you'll actually see Miyamoto wearing their shirts. These things rarely stay in stock, and each printing is a limited run which requires going through the approval process again.

Mario Kart Motorcycle preview

Here we've got some great footage of Mario riding a motorcycle on Mario Kart Wii. Looks like he's pulling some wheelies, but no sign of what a mini-turbo looks like on a motorcycle.

Mario Kart Wii Release Date

Mario Kart Wii has a release date of April 30, 2008 listed on Amazon.com. This is the first I've seen of a street date for this game. Still no word on how controls for mini-turbos work.
